Nearly 40 Years in Water/Wastewater
I began my career as a draftsman in the utilities maintenance department at SDSU in the 80's. From there I worked for multiple public and private organizations in the water/wastewater sector, culminating as General Manager at Rainbow MWD in Fallbrook.
I served on the San Diego County Water Authority Board of Directors for nearly 10 years, representing both Rainbow MWD and the City of Escondido. I understand San Diego County water issues in depth and have driven beneficial change regionally.
Education Matters
A Lifetime of Learning
As a young boy watching the Apollo astronauts walk on the moon, I was intrigued with all things space related. In college, I got my Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering. Unfortunately the end of the Cold War led to few job prospects.
I then began working for a city in LA County, and quickly found a new profession - water and wastewater. I went back to school and earned a Masters degree in Public Administration. I also achieved accreditation as a Certified Special District Manager from the California Special Districts Association

When difficult decisions are before me as a Board member at Rincon, my mantra is always "What Would the Ratepayers Do?" My decisions are focused on finding the best option for safe, reliable, and low cost drinking water.
